I help men develop into better husbands, lovers, and fathers.
About
my company
Ryan is a devoted husband to his beautiful wife since 2011 and a present father to his two wonderful boys. Ryan’s struggles in life and marriage necessitated a focus on internal work; he sought out reliable resources on masculinity, met the people he truly needed, put in the effort, and achieved positive growth.
After two years of intense personal development, Ryan was called to coaching (specifically, coaching other men). The lack of discussion around masculine sexuality/sexual performance in most men’s literature caught his attention more than anything and Ryan loves to focus on these topics.
Professionally, Ryan is a U.S. Naval Academy graduate with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, a veteran Naval Flight Officer with combat experience as a Weapon Systems Officer in the F/A-18F Super Hornet, a former Senior Instructor of Mechanical Engineering at the U.S. Naval Academy (after earning his M.E. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park), a 4th generation licensed Master Plumber & small business owner, a licensed Professional Engineer in Mechanical: Thermal & Fluid Systems, and a Master Certified Life Coach through the Certified Life Coach Institute (International Coaching Federation accredited).
Ryan also holds a Private Pilot License, he is a certified High Performance Driving Education (HPDE) instructor, and he is a first degree black belt (Cho Dan) in Tang Soo Do.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
I offer in-person or over the phone one-on-one coaching sessions for men. Please begin with a free 20-minute consultation over the phone for more information.
-
Absolutely - but only if you put in the work after each session.
Think of it from a sports mindset: all great athletes had great coaches/trainers at some point, but the athlete is the one who put in the work and grew proportionally as a result.
Life coaching is the same idea - you will be challenged and you must put in the work to rise to each challenge.
-
Coaching is a process that facilitates client growth.
Humans have a difficult time thinking about our thinking and we are able to rationalize almost any behavior - if there is an area in your life you want to improve, we can help.
My goal is to guide you to your own answers while challenging your perceived limitations.
Some of the questions asked of you during a coaching session may be challenging (they will force you to do some soul searching). But nothing will be demeaning or degrading - positivity and progress are the overarching themes to my coaching.

The initial consultation is free. The rest of my services are 45-minute coaching sessions priced at $199/session unless I’m offering a sale/special promotional package.

Collaborative, honest, straightforward, and positive! I’m not here to judge or throw out advice. I’m here to truly listen, understand, contemplate, and process your struggles and goals.

The big three: you must pay for a session in-full beforehand, you must cancel a paid session 24 hours in advance, and coaching is not a place to process “heavier” issues (depression, anxiety, trauma…).
Here is what you will read and agree to when booking a session (the real fine print):
As the Client's Life Coach, Ryan Golom, doing business as Let's Be Men Again, LLC (hereby referred to as Coach) will partner with the Client on a journey of discovery, self-exploration, accountability, and follow through. The Coach's job is to help discover, create a plan, and reach certain goals in the Client's life. The Coach will help the Client discover the beliefs or issues that are blocking the Client from moving forward in achieving these goals.
The Coach operates from a particular coaching model, but it is the responsibility of the Client to follow through with implementing the plan set forth between Coach and Client.
Achieving the results desired and expected by the Client and Coach normally takes time. In order for the coaching to be most effective and to allow time for changes to occur in the Client's life, the Client will commit to a contact period of at least 1 month.
Either party may terminate the coaching relationship at any time after agreeing to have a final session before concluding the relationship and settling (financially) any outstanding fees. The Coach agrees to refund any unused pre-paid fees.
Regular coaching sessions will be delivered by meeting at a specific time and place (or by phone) as agreed upon by the Coach and Client. Coaching sessions will last for 45 minutes and are billed at a rate of $199 per session. Coaching packages are available at a lower rate.
Fees are payable in advance of every session, either individually or as part of a package. The Coach accepts payments through the company's website or in-person using cash and checks.
The Client is responsible for any regular session fees if the Client cancels with less than 24 hours notice. Cancellation should be given by phone, not email, whenever possible.
Unscheduled calls or sessions will be billed at the regular rate after a grace period of 15 minutes.
The Client's identity, relationships, and content of the sessions are strictly confidential except in a situation where such confidentiality would violate the law (such as harm to self or others, child abuse, or elder abuse).
The Client agrees and understands that Let's Be Men Again, LLC and all of its employees are not medical or psychological professionals. They are not a substitute for psychotherapy or medical practice.
If a situation arises where medical or psychological intervention is needed, Let's Be Men Again, LLC is ethically and legally bound to refer the Client to a mental health or medical professional.

Time is a critical element regarding growth - I suggest two weeks between coaching sessions and I suggest a minimum of four sessions. But these are not requirements - feel free to book one session at a time and continue as you see fit.
You are never locked in and, as seen in the fine print, if you pre-paid for multiple sessions but you decide to terminate your commitment to my coaching services, I will refund your money for the unused sessions.

About my crest
This crest displays symbols that represent grounded masculinity and are inspired by Ryan’s life experiences:
Let’s Be Men Again (in midnight blue) - a general mentality supporting a return to healthy masculinity. While no example is perfect, many masculine cultures of the past can serve as inspiration to us in modern times. After reading numerous books on masculinity, this phrase appeared to Ryan as a clear and succinct guiding principle for the modern man.
Midnight Blue (color of lettering) - the color of the black belt level in Tang Soo Do (Korean Martial Art made famous by Chuck Norris). Where black tends to symbolize death, midnight blue represents the different degrees of “black” belts and signifies that a practitioner is still learning at every level (taken from the International Tang Soo Do Federation Handbook). Ryan earned his first degree black belt in Tang Soo Do in March 2026.
Sequoia Tree (upper left) - this tree represents a connection to mother earth and strength through adversity. Sequoia trees are the largest/strongest in the world and natural forest fires create the appropriate soil environment for these trees to thrive. While living in California, Ryan was able to regularly hike through the Sequoia National Forest.
Uhm-Yang (upper right) - this symbol represents the dual nature of the Universe and the dual nature of every aspect of life (Korean version of Yin-Yang). The red section represents the active, i.e. Fire, Heaven, Father. The blue section represents the passive, i.e. Water, Earth, Mother (taken from the International Tang Soo Do Federation Handbook). As men, we are part of a greater whole but we must act in accordance with our manly nature for there to be balance. By filling his masculine role at home, Ryan has seen the balance in his marriage shift in profoundly positive ways.
Gears (lower left) - men are thinkers and creators. We are mechanics and engineers. We are problem solvers and inventors. Both literally and figuratively, gears represent many of our inherent capabilities. Ryan comes from a long line of plumbers, became a plumber himself, and also established himself as an engineer.
Knight’s Helmet (lower right) - knighthood involved an initiation process; a clear way to train boys and develop them into men. Other martial cultures from the past could fit in this space just as easily; Medieval knighthood is simply one example of masculine training involving ethics and values. This German Sallet helmet represents part of Ryan’s family tree from Europe.
Crossed Swords (bottom) - these traditional U.S. Naval Officer swords represent Ryan’s previous service in the Navy as a Naval Academy graduate and Weapon Systems Officer in the F/A-18F Super Hornet. Ryan has combat experience as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
